Races Provided
All classes are combined for this event. The car with the most laps completed after three hours of racing after all penalties are calculated will be declared the winner.
Fees
Includes | Advance Registration | Late Registration | |
Jack Canfield Memorial Endurance Race | 3-Hour Endurance Race 1 t-shirt (if registered by October 2nd at 8pm) | $200 | $275 |
E-transfer to treasurer@armsinc.ca. Please make cheques payable to ARMS. If at all possible, please pay by e-transfer instead of cash or cheque.
Car owners must make sure all the drivers of their vehicles are licensed, registered and have paid the appropriate fees. Unregistered drivers found to be racing will be black flagged and cannot continue until they have completed their paperwork.
For a second offense there will be a $200.00 fine to the car owner.
Gate Fees: Race License includes the gate fee for the racer only. Gate fee is $20 per car load, with additional fees for those who attempt to argue with the gate staff.
Refunds/Credits: No refunds or credits will be issued for the JCM.
Technical Inspection
No race car will be allowed on the track until passed by the Technical Inspector. Cars may be required to re-pass technical inspection after an incident or upon request of the scrutineer.
All cars must display the annual tech decal on the driver’s side of the windshield.
Helmets: All Helmets must have the driver’s first initial and full last name on the left side, at minimum. This is for MRT so they know who they are dealing with in the event of an incident.
Scoring
Mylaps Electronic Timing System will be used. All race cars are required to correctly install a transponder in accordance with the requirements. Transponders may be rented at registration if necessary. Only ARMS approved transponder units may be used. Racing will be scored in one of two ways: time to complete a set number of laps, or laps per set amount of time.
Official Bulletin Board
An official bulletin board will be maintained at Registration in the Guthrie Building. Race organizers will consider this building as Race Headquarters for the event.
Insurance: Stoneridge Insurance.
Qualifying & Grid
The 2024 JCM grid will be set by single lap qualifying. This decision will be made prior to the morning drivers meeting and announced at that time. Cars will set one timed lap in reverse order based off practice times from the morning.
The start order will be posted in the Guthrie Building.
The driver setting the qualifying time must be the driver that starts the race.
If on a timed lap, a car passes a yellow zone for an incident not caused by that car, a re run will be given at the end of the qualifying session.
Grid Rollout
The grid rollout will also be weather dependent. Race Organizers will make a decision that morning. Pit Lane will be opened 35 minutes prior to the start of the race. Pit exit will remain open for 10 minutes.
During this time, cars may complete 1 installation lap – exiting pit lane and proceeding through turn 11 for gridding on the front straight. Flags will be waved in 11, with the yellow light on.
Follow the Grid Marshal’s direction to your grid spot.
Any cars registered for the race that do not make the Rollout and do not exit pit lane within the 10 minute window may start from Pit Lane.
5 Minutes prior to the race start, all non-crew will be cleared from the grid.
2 minutes prior to the race all personnel will be cleared from the grid.
Signal will be given for 1 warm up lap, followed by the start of the race.
The Race
The race will be a three hour endurance race for sedans. The car with the most laps completed after three hours of racing will be declared the winner. Driver changes during the multiple pit stops are allowed (and encouraged); the car shall be scored as a single unit.
The Start
The start shall be a rolling start behind a pace car.
The race shall begin after one (1) laps steady yellow.
The car in pole position when the pace car has entered the pit lane shall maintain the pace until the green flag is displayed from the starter’s bridge, indicating the start of the race.
Contact at Beginning and End of Race
All instances of contact reported (by clerk, stewards, marshalls, race control and other judges of fact) in the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of the race will result in stop-and-go penalties for ALL drivers involved, regardless of fault. Be advised that it may take several laps for all penalties to be administered.
Drivers are reminded of pit speed and proper pit lane behavior when entering and exiting to serve the penalty; avoid further penalties for pit behavior.
Red Flags
The clock will not be stopped for Safety Car or Red Flag. The clock will run for the full three hours continuously, regardless of race conditions.
Pit Stops
Each car will be required to complete two mandatory pit stops during the race, which shall be a minimum of five minutes + the car’s fastest lap, each.
You must complete one green flag lap before your first pit stop, and must start your last pit stop prior to 10 minutes remaining in the race. A sign will be shown at the starter’s bridge at the 10 minutes to go mark.
Pit stops may not be combined into one stop; there must be at least one complete scorable lap between pit stops (i.e. two laps from when the car leaves the pits to when it re-enters).
Max pit speed 40 km/h will be enforced. Penalties will be applied for carelessness. Driver changes may take place during a pit stop. The car shall be switched off before the driver exits the vehicle. The next driver shall be properly belted in prior to restarting the car.
Failure to complete the pit stops will result in a 10 lap penalty for each stop missed.
One stop missed or shorted = 10 lap penalty.
Both Stops missed or shorted = 20 lap penalty.
For more info on pit stops including force majeure situations, see Section 1 of the ARMS Regional Road Race General Competition Rules.

Powered vehicles for youth under 16 are not allowed anywhere on the property anywhere at AMP during TRAC Events, in accordance with the Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicle Act & Regulations.

Fire Suppression & Spill Clean-up: Each race team shall have on hand, at minimum, a readily accessible 5lbs ABC Fire Extinguisher and 10 quick-dry absorption pads.
Please Note: these items have been mandatory since July 2019. You may be subject to a fine due upon inspection if found lacking.

The refueler must be protected by a full nomex suit, balaclava, socks and shoes and full coverage helmet. A crew member must be standing by with a fully charged ABC fire extinguisher (min. 5lb) ready in case of emergency. Only after the refueling is complete may the driver re-enter the car. No sitting or riding on the exterior of a moving vehicle.
No bare feet in the paddock.
Supervision of Children: Parents are reminded that they are responsible for children, and must ensure their supervision and safe behavior on the Property, and in the Paddock specifically, at all times. Do not allow children to run or play in the Paddock while the track is hot. Do not allow behaviors in the Paddock that may cause inattention or distraction from a moving vehicle – i.e. throwing a ball, lying on the ground, etc at any time. Use common sense and follow the direction of officials.
Common Sense: While this is a race, the drivers are requested to use common sense when confronted with a situation that may lead to an accident or damage to a car. Rough driving will be penalized.
Driver’s Meeting
Attendance is mandatory at the driver’s meeting. Drivers not in attendance will start from pit lane after the green flag has dropped; if the driver not in attendance at the driver’s meeting is not the first driver of the day (i.e. second or subsequent driver), the car shall incur a five (5) lap penalty.
