I drove your car last summer, the handling was pretty much spot on. You likely will upset the balance a lot by trying this. If you look at the times from the last Nationals in 09, your 15.0 is quicker by a good margin.

^ I put a new set of coilovers on the car. They are quite stiff and I thought a softer rear bar would allow some more traction on the throttle coming out of a corner.

Luc, typically when you add proper suspension to a car meaning spring rates that can now support the car properly in the corners and getting off the corners means you can get away with less rear bar. Most times people will use front and rear bars to compensate for lack of good spring rates. You can now use your bars to fine tune the handling rather then using them to make up a lot your handling.

I am trying though.

Unfortunately that number is going to drop back to only 5. I won't have the car ready for the next event. Given what happened this weekend. Plus Meg and I are arguing about what the FiST was bought for.....

Fingers crossed for #3. In my case.......

Obviously the FiST was bought for commuting between turns #1 and #11. ;)

Get some proper track pads and a brake fluid flush and you'll be golden.

Dustin...we all know the FiST is just a "stop gap" until the Focus RS comes available sooo until that time just treat the Fist (and Meg) with respect and put on the proper replacement parts. Remember to check the wheel bearings and CV joints for grease as you have been running extreme temperatures at the rotors.
Flowers may get you back in the game or a nice weekend away...come on !! :P

Were getting amazing numbers for autoslalom but so far it isn't translating into better numbers for time attack. People, were actually holding a national event in September if we can't make a viable regional series it isn't going to look too good!

Do the racers using the lapping/time attack for practice count in the numbers? If so maybe a reminder in the race subforum would get a few of them to sign up rather than have the event cancelled and leave them scrambling to arrange practice time?

They don't count other than to help offset the acceptable losses assumed with only 12 competitors. :(

This may not be the right place to ask but for those of us who have an open top car without a convertible roof are we able to run the car at lapping and time attack? I looked at the time attack rules,

"In vehicles without tops, the use of window nets or SFI approved arm restraints by the driver (and
passenger, if applicable) are highly recommended"

I am having some issues with my hard top on the Miata

I ask because I do remember at least one car a lotus i believe that ran topless...sounds bad or good lol

Hi Graham,
If I remember correctly it was a Super 7 on a lapping day and the driver was advised he would need arm restraints, for his next event.

It says highly recommended in the ASN rules. I believe ARMS says you need arm restraints but I can't find the ARMS TA rules to confirm. So we will have to defer to the ASN rule at the present time.

What is your problem with the hard top?
